Asphalt Production Facility
Precon Smith Construction Limited operates a modern asphalt production facility located in Ajase-Ipo, Kwara State. The plant is capable of producing between 62 to 80 tons of hot mix asphalt per hour, making it one of the most productive facilities in the region. This production capacity enables us to supply asphalt for our own road construction projects as well as to third-party contractors and government agencies undertaking highway works across the north-central and south-western zones of Nigeria.
Our asphalt plant is equipped with modern batching and mixing technology that ensures consistent quality and precise aggregate grading in every batch produced. The facility includes aggregate storage bins, a drying drum, dust collection systems, a mixing unit, and hot storage silos. Each component is maintained to the highest operational standards to guarantee reliable output and minimal downtime. Our production team includes experienced plant operators and quality control technicians who monitor every stage of the production process.
Quality control is at the heart of our asphalt production operations. We maintain an on-site laboratory where samples from every production run are tested for key parameters including aggregate gradation, bitumen content, Marshall stability, flow values, and air void content. These tests are conducted in accordance with the specifications of the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing and international standards to ensure that every ton of asphalt we produce meets the required performance criteria for use on federal and state highway projects.
The strategic location of our plant in Ajase-Ipo provides excellent access to major road corridors in Kwara, Osun, Ekiti, Kogi, and Niger States. This geographic advantage reduces haulage distances and transport costs, enabling us to deliver hot mix asphalt to project sites while it remains within the required temperature range for proper compaction and pavement performance. For projects further afield, we also have mobile plant capabilities that allow us to set up temporary production facilities closer to the construction site.
